Ligue 1 Week 37: Bordeaux - Sochaux

Menegazzo 1-0

Chamakh 2-0

Bordeaux close to Lyon

Laurent Blanc’s Girondins side will take Ligue 1 to its final round after doing enough to beat a defensively-minded Sochaux.

Bordeaux started the match in an uncertain manner, allowing Sochaux to have the best of the play however the visitors toiled to do a great deal with the ball.

The home side built a spell of pressure before half-time and were rewarded as a low stoppage time shot from Fernando following a corner surprised Richert and found the net, giving Blanc’s side a precious lead.

The momentum gathered from the opening goal would continue into the second half as Bellion and Obertan both came close before les Girondins doubled their lead, substitute Trémoulinas crossing for Chamakh to deftly head past Richert.

Bordeaux’s second goal ended that match as a serious contest as both sides settled for the 2:0 result.
